Nootkas was born from a simple idea: comfort should feel natural.

Inspired by the rainy, cozy lifestyle of the Pacific Northwest and time spent in Scandinavia, we fell in love with the ritual of slipping into house shoes the moment you walk through the door. It’s a small habit—but one that transforms how home feels.

We searched everywhere for the perfect pair. What we found instead were slippers made from synthetic materials, stiff wool, or designs that didn’t balance comfort, breathability, and simplicity.

So we made our own.

Nootkas was built around a few core beliefs:

Our name comes from Nootka Sound in British Columbia—a place tied to childhood memories, ocean air, and a slower, more intentional way of living.
