Alpaca wool is the perfect material for socks. It's as soft as cashmere, wicks moisture, insulates better than nearly every fiber on the market, and is safe for sensitive skin as alpacas do not produce lanolin. Our alpaca wool is sourced directly from Peru and is a fully sustainable fiber.

    Softens with washing

When I first got these, I was surprised by he scratchy they feel. After 3 washes and wearings, they are much softer.

Nice socks - itchier than I'd prefer.

This is my first time ordering from the Nootkas brand so I wasn't sure what to expect. These socks are a nice option for wearing with my ankle boots. The main selling point for me is the content of these socks: 41% Alpaca, 23% Nylon, 17% Acrylic, 14% Spandex, and 5% Elastic. Alpaca is a natural fiber known for its insulating and moisture wicking properties. These socks are a bit itchier than I was anticipating or would prefer. I have other alpaca items that are softer. I would guess it is the synthetic fibers added that makes the yarn not as soft as pure alpaca.I chose the "Black Dot" pattern. They are a subtle twist on a classic pair of black socks and are well represented in the description photos.I typically wear a size 8 in women's shoes and ordered the size "S/M" as the size chart suggested. These fit very nicely, neither too baggy nor too tight. I like the crew height and they look really nice with my ankle boots. I look forward to wearing them in Fall!

Lovely and soft to the touch socks

These socks are beautiful and soft. The colors are muted and lovely. Not sure the XL is as big as it claims but other than that these are a Great pair of socks especially to be given as a gift. The fiber content is what drew me to these—these will not disappoint. Cost is on-par with SmartWool & the like so no complaints on price.

    Very nice dress socks

Perfect dress socks for the fall through spring because they keep your feet warm and cozy but also wicks away any sweat. I didn't find them to be too thick, which was a worry, so I could wear them with quite a few different shoes. A little pricey compared to regular dress socks but I find alpaca wool to be more comfortable than nylon or other synthetics.

Soft and great for winter workwear

These alpaca socks have a lovely soft feel and the pattern is perfect for wearing with a suit to the office in the wintertime. They are not 100% alpaca wool, but I believe most alpaca socks are blended with a synthetic yarn to provide some structure so they don't slouch and come down the leg which is a more casual look. My partner has size 12 feet and tends to wear holes in socks that are made too small, so these are a perfect size for him. He says they are not itchy at all and are very breathable.

    Very soft

These socks are very soft and comfortable. The foot is a bit loose for my size 7.5 foot. I wouldn't recommend it for smaller feet unless you don't mind your sock sliding around or bunching up in your shoe. Larger feet will likely find these socks very comfortable.

    itchy

These feel like itchy wool. I don't think they're worth the price. They look like they have threads coming out as if they are already ten years old. Maybe that's how alpaca wool looks and feels when it's new but I don't like it. It's also not a pure blend; it's mixed with acrylic yarn which is just like any other cheap sock out there. If these were $6 I would be much more generous with my stars but I just can't justify the price for the quality.
